Indiana Unemployment At 11.2 Percent In June

Local unemployment numbers will be available Monday, July 20, at noon.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – Indiana June unemployment rates are in. 

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the state's jobless rate stands at 11.2 percent for the month of June.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports the number of unemployed people actively seeking employment within the prior four weeks as a percentage of the labor force. 

Indiana’s labor force had a net increase of 53,484 last month. This was a result of a decrease of 28,747 unemployed residents and an increase of 82,231 employed residents.

In total, the state’s labor force stands at 3.39 million and Indiana’s 64.3 percent labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 61.5 percent

June employment data for local counties will be available Monday, July 20, at noon.
