Indiana reports an unemployment rate of 3.1 percent for the month of February.
(Indianapolis, Ind.) - February unemployment rates are in and Indiana remains lower than the national rate of 3.5 percent.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the state's jobless rate stands at 3.1 percent for the month of February, unchanged from January.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports the number of unemployed people actively seeking employment within the prior four weeks as a percentage of the labor force.
Indiana’s labor force had a net increase of 3,114 last month. This was a result of a decrease of 1,599 unemployed residents and an increase of 4,713 employed residents.
In total, the state’s labor force stands at 3.39 million and Indiana’s 64.4 percent labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 63.4 percent.
Locally, unemployment rates ranged from 3.4 percent in Ohio County to 3.9 percent in Dearborn County.
