Indiana State Police Releases Results of Labor Day Weekend Patrol

Extra patrols were conducted to deter impaired driving.

(Versailles, Ind.) - Indiana State Police - Versailles Post Troopers conducted overtime patrols over the Labor Day weekend in attempt to deter impaired driving. 

Over the two day period, which consisted of Friday, September 1 and Saturday, September 2, troopers arrested six individuals for operating while intoxicated and 12 for drug violations. Two more arrests were made for driving while being a habitual traffic violator and driving while suspended. Two individuals were cited for minor consumption and possession of alcohol. 

In total, troopers conducted 256 traffic stops over the two day period, issuing 77 citations and 235 warnings. 

The patrols were conducted in 10 counties of the Versailles District which are Bartholomew, Dearborn, Decatur, Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland Counties.

The Indiana State Police will continue to target those who operate vehicles while under the influence of drugs and alcohol and place the innocent motoring public at risk.
