(Boone County, Ky.) – Last month, a group of educators from northern Kentucky called the “Jones 30” won a million dollars on the Powerball.
The ticket was purchased at the Hebron Kroger, which entitled the grocery retailer to a cut of the winnings.
On Wednesday, Kroger donated the $10,000 they received to Jones Middle School, where many of the Jones 30 are employed or used to be employed.
The grocery retailer has requested that the money be specifically used to provide vital resources for Jones students and staff as part of Kroger’s Zero Hunger, Zero Waste initiative.
