(Wilmington, Oh.) – It is going to be a steamy day in Eagle Country.

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the entire tri-state area until 8:00 p.m. this evening.

Today’s forecast calls for a mostly sunny day with a high of 94 degrees. According to the NWS, heat index values could reach up to 104.

The NWS advises individuals to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Additionally, young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. In the event of heat stroke, dial 911.
