Harrison High School Pivots To Remote Learning

Superintendent John Hamstra says student and staff positive cases have tripled in the last week.

(Harrison, Oh.) - Harrison High School is pivoting to remote learning.

Superintendent John Hamstra made the announcement on Thursday amid rising positive COVID-19 cases.

Hamstra said in a letter to parents and gaurdians that positive student and staff cases have tripled in the last week.

"The number of staff / students we have out due to quarantine has also increased considerably in recent weeks and this is causing a major strain on how we conduct school, day to day, in the high school," said Hamstra.

Harrison High School will move to remote learning December 14-18. All other buildings will operate as normal.

Following Christmas break, Hamstra anticipates Harrison High School will return to in-person instruction with remote option.

Due to extra-curriculars not being impacted, from a staffing standpoint, they will continue as normal. Coaches will communicate with their respective teams regarding schedules for next week and the holiday break.

Meals will be available for those in need on Tuesday, December 15, from 10 – 11AM. Please call the High School office at 513.367.4169 to place your order for next week, before 3PM on Friday, December 11. Distribution will take place at the high school student entrance canopy on the north side of the building.
