Greendale's Christmas On The Avenue Benefits Dearborn Co. Historical Society

The event features tours of four residences along historic Ridge Avenue.

(Greendale, Ind.) - A new holiday event will benefit the Dearborn County Historical Society. 

Greendale's Christmas on the Avenue will take place Saturday, December 4 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The event will feature tours of four residences along historic Ridge Avenue. They include 337, 407, 509, and 548. Those wishing to tour the four homes will be able to purchase tickets online at EventBrite. 

Cost is $20 for adults, and $10 for children 6-12. The event is free for children under 6 years old. All proceeds will go to the Dearborn County Historical Society for improvement projects to the Vance Tousey House. As a bonus, each adult ticket sold will include a membership in the Historical Society. 

Residents along Ridge Avenue are encouraged to decorate their properties for the season to elevate the experience of Christmas on the Avenue. 

Local organizations and businesses will be on hand to provide different services:

  • Greendale Garden Club Luminaries: will be available to light up your property for the December 4 event. 
  • First United Church of Christ Greendale: will provide check in point and parking for attendees
  • First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg-Greendale: will present the 20th anniversary performance of Jazzy Christmas with a 16-piece Big Band and Choir. Call 812-537-1642 for free tickets. Limited seating.
  • Der Heisse Stein German Restaurant: offering a special discount to tour participants
  • City of Greendale: will assist with ensuring safety of participants walking along Ridge Avenue
