Gov. Holcomb Signs Executive Order To Support EMS

This executive order will allow these retired and inactive EMS professionals to provide supplemental health care services in Indiana.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Yesterday, Governor Holcomb signed Executive Order 20-19

This executive order authorizes retired and inactive EMS professionals to join the fight against COVID-19 by providing supplemental health care services in Indiana without reinstatement or approval by the Indiana EMS Commission during the this public health emergency.

These retired and inactive EMS professionals must work under the supervision of a licensed EMS or health care professional.

Under the order, the retired and inactive EMS professionals are also permitted to provide primary patient care for patients as part of emergency response, transports and facilities with a temporary certification or licensure from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
