(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Hardcore Against Hunger, a grassroots, community-driven benefit concert successfully concluded its inaugural event this past weekend, raising $500 in monetary donations and collecting a significant amount of nonperishable food to support local families during the holiday season.

The all-ages benefit show brought together local music fans, community organizers, and performers with one shared goal; leveraging the DIY music scene to directly support families in Dearborn County. Attendees donated either $10 per person, or 5 nonperishable goods for entry to the show.

"This was more than just music," said Hunter Collins, lead organizer of Hardcore Against Hunger and a candidate for Indiana House District 68. "This was about bringing people together and turning that energy into real help for our neighbors. The response from the community, especially for a first-time event, was truly inspiring."

The funds and food collected were donated to The Dearborn County Clearinghouse, helping restock shelves and provide assistance to families throughout Dearborn and Ohio County.

The event was co-organized by Hunter Collins, candidate for Indiana House District 68, alongside Jaden Stutts ("Bee"), a Lawrenceburg based photographer and musician. The event marked Lawrenceburg's first hardcore show in over a decade, highlighting the growing interest in alternative music and grassroots events in Southeast Indiana.

Organizers say Hardcore Against Hunger is intended to continue as a recurring benefit series, with future events already in early planning stages. "This is just the start," Collins added. "Our goal is to keep building something that continues to support the local community, while maintaining the grassroots accessibility that allows folks from all walks of life to come together."
