Franklin County, Oldenburg Awarded Infrastructure Improvement Grants

The grants will fund projects that would be bid during the fiscal year beginning July 2027.

INDIANAPOLIS – More than $162 million is going to local communities for infrastructure projects.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced Thursday that funding is being awarded to 50 cities, towns, and counties in rural areas of the state.

The funding will help communities to invest in local roads and bridge improvements and sidewalk projects.

Local recipients include:

  • Franklin County: $1,552,000
  • Oldenburg: $2,530,400

For this round of funding, communities will design, develop and purchase land for projects that would be bid during the fiscal year beginning July 2027. While funds awarded now are dedicated to construction, INDOT will also be financially participating in design, engineering, and right of way acquisition components of these projects.

INDOT dedicates approximately 25 percent of its federal highway funds to supporting local projects each year.

A list of all communities receiving funds can be found online here.
