(West Harrison, Ind.) - Two Franklin County residents have been recognized for their annual Christmas light exhibit.
State Rep. Randy Lyness (R-West Harrison) recently honored Dorothy and George Weaver with a Circle of Corydon award during the Franklin County Fair.
The Circle of Corydon was established in 2017 by Governor Eric Holcomb to honor Hoosiers who have made contributions to the betterment of Indiana and its people.
For more than 50 years, the Weavers have hosted a free Christmas light exhibit from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve, bringing in nearly 20,000 visitors.
Those visitors were greeted with hot chocolate, cookies, candy canes and other sweets at no cost.
"The Weavers are a perfect example of what happens when you combine the Hoosier spirit with the Christmas spirit," Lyness said. "Dorothy and George's acts of kindness and generosity make the holiday season brighter for so many friends and neighbors in Franklin County."
