Former Ryle HS Teacher Accused Of Theft

More than $100,000 was allegedly taken from school organization accounts.

(Union, Ky.) - A former Ryle High School teacher is accused of stealing more than $100,000 from school organizations.

Bryan Bentley was indicted Tuesday in Clermont County, Ohio on two counts of grand theft.

The 37-year-old was the treasurer of Ryle High School’s Future Business Leaders of America club in 2015 through 2017 when he allegedly stole $52,000 for personal use.

As that theft was being investigated, Fifth Third Bank representatives contacted police about other suspicious activity by Bentley. In 2017, he allegedly wrote checks from a closed school account for another amount of at least $50,000.

Bentley had already been fired from the school prior to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office beginning their investigation.
