(Florence, Ky.) – A motorcycle rider died in a crash on Interstate 71/75 Sunday evening.

Florence Police say the motorcycle may have been switching lanes when it collided with the left rear of a semi trailer in the southbound lanes near the Burlington Pike exit about 7:30.

The biker, 62-year-old William McAfoose, of Florence, was pronounced dead after being transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence. Police said he was not wearing a helmet.

Three of the four lanes on the interstate were shut down until late Sunday night.
