Flood Warning Goes Into Effect Tuesday

The Ohio River is expected to crest at 54.5 feet by Thursday morning.

(Wilmington, Oh.) – After a rainy weekend, the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning.

The Flood Warning is in effect from Tuesday afternoon until further notice for the Ohio River at Cincinnati.

The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Tuesday afternoon and continuing rising to a crest of 54.5 feet Thursday morning. Flood stage is 52 feet.

At 54 feet, flooding is to be expected near Petersburg, Kentucky along Belleview Road near the Woolper Creek Bridge, as well as State Road 56 and Water Street in downtown Aurora.

Other local areas could be impacted too.

Motorists are reminded to never drive through flooded roads.
