Flood Warning For Great Miami River

(Miamitown, Oh.) - The tri-state received over 1.5 inches of rain on Thursday, and even more is coming down this morning.

Thursday’s 1.5 inches was a new record for January 26.

The Great Miami River at Miamitown is about three feet over flood stage of 16 feet as of Friday morning, triggering a Flood Warning there. That warning will last through Sunday.

The river will continue rising to near 21.0 feet through Friday evening. By Sunday, the river should fall back below flood stage.

National Weather Service meteorologists is calling for a 50 percent chance of precipitation Friday. Skies will be mostly cloudy as the high temperature reaches 42.
