Fire Put Out At Downtown Lawrenceburg Home

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Lawrenceburg firefighters were called out Monday afternoon for a structure fire in the downtown area.

The fire was reported around 12:37 p.m. at the corner of Short Street and East Center Street.

Upon arriving at the scene, light to moderate smoke was coming from the rear of the structure. Fire chief Johnnie Tremain said in a release that the fire was found in the kitchen ceiling.

Firefighters had to open and remove the kitchen ceiling to extinguish the fire.

All units were cleared from the scene at 1:58 p.m. after debris removal.

Lawrenceburg Fire was assisted at the scene by Lawrenceburg Police, L.E.R.U., LMU, Lawrenceburg Building Commissioner, Greendale Fire and Aurora Fire.

The fire remains under investigation.
