Fatal Fire Reported Near Versailles

Multiple agencies responded to the blaze last Friday.

(Versailles, Ind.) – An investigation is underway after a fatal fire in Ripley County.

Versailles Fire Rescue responded to a house fire on County Road 300 South near Versailles on Friday afternoon.

One person was reported dead.

A cause of the fire remains under investigation through the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Versailles Fire was assisted at the scene by Osgood Fire, Ripley County EMS, Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police and the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.

No other information has been released at this time.
