(Green Township, Oh.) – A Cleves man died in a crash on Harrison Avenue Tuesday evening.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says Joseph Wade, 69, was driving his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado on Harrison Avenue near the intersection with Forfeit Run Road at about 5:45 p.m.
It appeared Wade lost control of the truck as he accelerated in the left lane to pass another vehicle.
Wade’s pickup truck went left of center and then jerked to the right. It overturned several times and Wade was ejected, deputies said.
Wade was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in Wade’s truck, Tony Weil, 38, of Cleves, was not hurt.
Neither Wade nor Weil were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, the sheriff’s office said. The crash remains under investigation.
