Executive Order Requires Face Coverings In All Kentucky Schools

The requirement is for all teachers, staff, visitors and students age 2 and up, regardless of vaccination status.

(Frankfort, Ky.) – Governor Andy Beshear has signed an executive order requiring face coverings in all schools.

At a media briefing on Tuesday, the governor said all teachers, staff, students, and visitors must cover their nose and mouth with a face covering when indoors at all public and private schools – regardless of vaccination status.

The requirement stretches from children aged 2 and up in childcare, pre-K, and K-12 schools.

“This is how we make sure we protect our child, but this is also how we make sure they stay in school,” said Beshear. “

Currently, children under the age of 12 are not eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
