(Greendale, Ind.) - A Lawrenceburg man is facing multiple felony charges after an incident in Greendale earlier this month.

Greendale Police were dispatched to the Circle K along U.S. 50 on July 13 in reference to a suspicious male in a white truck. Dispatch informed police that a male subject had been going in and out of the store for several hours.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the Circle K manager believed the male was stealing products from the store.

Upon arriving at the scene, police say they located the vehicle and observed a male passed out in the driver's seat. Contact was made with the driver, who stated he "stopped to get something to eat and fell asleep."

While speaking with the subject, police say they could smell marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The subject then identified himself as another man but was later identified as Kyle D. Sexton.

Due to the odor of marijuana and the manager believing he was stealing, Sexton was asked to exit the vehicle. Police say he refused to exit and that there was a gun holster on the center console.

At that point, officers decided to remove Sexton from the vehicle. Sexton allegedly resisted and continually attempted to reach inside his right pant pocket. One officer warned Sexton that he would be tased if he continued to resist. Sexton was eventually hit with a taser two times.

While Sexton was being detained, officers say they located a loaded handgun in Sexton's front pocket.

During a search of his vehicle, officers also allegedly located and seized multiple items including marijuana, three syringes, approximately 40 grams of methamphetamine, cocaine, Xanax and other drug paraphernalia.

Sexton is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine (Level 2 Felony), Possession of a Firearm by Serious Violent Felon (Level 4 Felony), Possession of Cocaine (Level 6 Felony), Possession of a Syringe (Level 6 Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor), Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Marijuana (Class A Misdemeanor) and False Informing (Class B Misdemeanor).

He is currently held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
