(Dillsboro, Ind.) – The Town of Dillsboro has received funding to support the Community Park.

At Monday’s Town Council meeting, Jerry Caldwell, Clay Township Trustee, presented the Town with a check for $20,000.

Over two years ago, Caldwell began brainstorming with Council President, Doug Baker, and other members of the then, Park Advisory Board, to come up with ways to fund the park without raising taxes.

Baker cites the Dillsboro Community Park as a place for “kids and families of the entire area” (including Clay and Caesar Creek Townships) to play and enjoy.

Both Township Trustees, Caldwell and Sherman Hughes of Caesar Creek Township, agreed to assist with park funding whenever possible.

With the approval of the Trustee and Township Board, funds were re-appropriated where there was determined to be a need benefiting the entire community.

Caldwell stated at the recent meeting, “I am pleased to present the town the $20,000 check for the parks and recreation fund from the township”.

Dillsboro Community Park is approximately 20 acres of land located on the south side of town that includes four ball fields, four soccer fields, two pavilions and a walking trail.
