Dillsboro Police Set to Provide Notice to Persons in Violation of Junk Vehicle Ordinance

The ordinance has been in effect since 2008.

(Dillsboro, Ind.) - Around March 1, Dillsboro Police will be providing notice to those in violation of the Junk Vehicle Ordinance. 

Under the ordinance, it is unlawful for any person to store or allow to remain in the open, on public or private property within the town, any disassembled, or inoperable, or unlicensed, or any junked, wrecked or otherwise abandoned vehicle for a period of three or more days on public property, or for a period of 20 or more days on private property, unless it is in connection with an automotive sales or repair business enterprise which operates with proper licensure and in a properly zone area.

Anyone in violation of the ordinance will be served in person by a Dillsboro officer or will find your vehicle tagged with a written notice posted on the door. 

The ordinance was passed in 2008.
