Dillsboro Man Killed In I-74/275 Motorcycle Wreck

Hamilton County deputies say speed may have been a factor in the Wednesday evening crash.

(Hamilton County, Oh.) - A fatal motorcycle crash claimed the life of a Dillsboro man Wednesday.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies say the wreck happened on the ramp from westbound Interstate 74 to southbound Interstate 275 in Whitewater Township around 6:00 p.m.

Robert Cogswell, 56, was operating a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was changing lanes to pass slower traffic when his motorcycle went off the left side of the roadway. He was unable to maintain control of his motorcycle as it tipped onto its side.

Cogswell was thrown from the bike. He died of his injuries.

Deputies say alcohol and drugs are not considered factors, but speed may have played a role in the wreck. Cogswell was not wearing a helmet, deputies said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit.
