Death Investigation Underway In Switzerland County

Local authorities were searching for a missing person when they came across human remains.

(Switzerland County, Ind.) -A death investigation is underway in Switzerland County.

While conducting a missing person investigation on Monday, deputies with the Switzerland County Sheriff’s office discovered human remains in a wooded area of a vacant residence on the 13-thousand block of Beatty Ridge Road.

Deputies say they are working to identify the remains and determine a cause of death, which could take several weeks.

It is uncertain at this time if the remains are associated with the missing person investigation.
