(Aurora, Ind.) - The Dearborn County Park Board will dedicate the Mike Hornbach Memorial 4-H Shooting Sports Range at County Farm Park on November 13 at 9am. Two new signs will be unveiled at the entrance of the park on County Farm Road, located near the YES Home.

Mike Hornbach was a past member of the Dearborn County Park Board and a long time Extension Educator for Purdue University Extension in Dearborn County before his retirement in 2017. He dedicated much of his career to improving the park system and serving 4-H youth, including those involved in shooting sports activities. Mike passed away January of 2021.

“Mike was a dear friend and a valued member of the county park board,” said Jim Red Elk, Dearborn County Park Board President. “We are pleased to dedicate the shooting range in his honor.”

All community members, media partners, and friends of Mike are invited to attend the short ceremony. Parking is available onsite and light refreshments will be served. The dedication will occur rain or shine.

Located near Manchester, County Farm Park is one of five parks in the Dearborn County Park System. Features include disc golf, nature trails, fishing, and the aforementioned 4-H Shooting Sports range. Other land uses include forty acres of commercial agricultural production and over 100 acres of woodland.

County Farm Park address: 11706 County Farm Road, Aurora, IN 47001.
