Dearborn County Flooding Update

(Dearborn Co., IN) – Dearborn County is shifting its flood event efforts to clean-up and recovery.

Roads in several counties are still closed. Those roads will be updated via Facebook or using the Rave Alert system. You can sign up a safety profile to receive alerts at www.smart911.com and opting in.

State Route 56 has reopened between 5th Street and Rising Sun. State Route 56 will remain closed in Aurora between Main St and 5th St. The George St. bridge will remain closed until Friday 4-11-2025 when it can be inspected. Several roads in Aurora will remain closed.

Anyone that would like to volunteer time with cleanup efforts in downtown Aurora are requested to meet at the Aurora City Hall fire bay located at 3rd and Main Streets during the following scheduled shifts: Friday April 11, Saturday April 12, and Sunday April 13 at 10AM. Volunteers will be required to check in and check-out at the end of each shift. Please wear appropriate work clothes, work boots and gloves. Cleaning supplies will be provided. Lunch and beverages provided. Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

If you own a home or business in Dearborn County that has sustained damage due to flooding you are urged to report it by using https://in211.communityos.org/. If you do not have internet access you may call Dearborn County Emergency Management at (812) 537-3971. These reports will assist in the determination if disaster relief funding will be available.
