Dearborn Co. Sheriff's Office Warning of Text Scam

Scammers are posing as area firefighters stating a family member's home has burnt down.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - The Dearborn County Sheriff's Office is advising area residents to be aware of a current text scam. 

According to the Sheriff's Office, scammers are texting area residents with the following message:

"Hello, this is St. Leon Fire Department we are sorry to inform you that your grandmas house has burnt down call us for more info." 

If you receive a message like this, delete the message and/or block the number.
