DCHD: COVID-19 Morbidity & Mortality Report For August 6-12

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - The Dearborn County Health Department released a Morbidity and Mortality Report for the week of August 6 through August 12. The numbers reported include those tested with results.

Testing for Dearborn County residents has decreased from the beginning of July. 718 residents were tested the week of July 10 through July 16, and numbers have continued to dwindle from that point.

455 Dearborn County residents were tested for COVID-19 this past week. Testing for these residents was received from Highpoint Health, Indiana State Department of Health, Bethesda North, Mercy Health, Urgent Care Lawrenceburg, and LHI.

Of the these 455 residents tested, 38 tests came back positive while 417 were negative. While the positive cases reported hold steady at 38, there was a drop of 76 residents tested. This increased the positivity rate of 7 percent during the week of July 31 through August 6 to 8 percent this past week.

There were no COVID-19 related deaths recorded in Dearborn County for the week of August 6 through August 12.

Additionally, no Dearborn County inmates and just 1 government employee tested positive during this time period.

To date, Dearborn County has seen a total of 6,481 residents tested with 517 positive cases and 28 COVID-19 related deaths. Of the reported deaths, 1 was between the ages of 60-69, 1 between the ages of 70-79, 16 were between the ages of 80-89, 8 between 90-99, and 2 were 100 years old or older. Looking further, 17 females and 11 males succumbed to their fight with the coronavirus.
