Cruisin' to a Cure for ALS Brings Big Crowd to Downtown Lawrenceburg

Around 1,000 vehicles entered the show on Sunday.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The weather was gorgeous, and the turnout was spectacular for the 6th annual Cruisin' to a Cure for ALS.

About 1,000 vehicles entered the show on Sunday in downtown Lawrenceburg, according to event organizer Logan Lawrence. The previous record for entrants was set a year ago with 927 vehicles.

Lawrence plans to announce official totals this week. He did announce Sunday evening that the fundraising goal exceeded $40,000.

"Thank you to everyone," said Lawrence. "Our volunteers knocked it out of the park and made it flow easy to make the event what it is! Sold out of t-shirts, auction items brought several thousand dollars, and lots of cars paying entry fees. I set a goal of $40,000 being raised for ALS and I believe everyone delivered! Was one heck of a day and pap was watching over us giving perfect weather."

All proceeds from the event will go to the ALS Association Indiana Chapter to assist those battling ALS and for research to find a cure for the disease.
