(Cincinnati, Oh.) - The Cincinnati Reds and Hamilton County are facing a lawsuit over injuries from a foul ball.
Kimberlee Slusher and her husband filed the lawsuit Tuesday, claiming the Reds and county officials were negligent in not installing netting along foul lines at Great American Ball Park.
Slusher claims she suffered serious and permanent injuries when she was hit with a foul ball in 2017. Her injuries, according to the complaint, include a concussion, headaches, and loss of teeth. She has required dental surgery and has lost wages.
The Slushers’ complaint asks a judge to award $25,000 in damages.
About a month after Slusher was hurt at a game, the Reds announced they would extended the netting to the ends of each dugout.
Tickets to Reds games include a warning about the risk of batted or thrown balls or bats entering the stands.
The Reds organization has declined to comment on the pending litigation.
