Cops Crash Underage Drinking Party With Kids As Young As 14

Nineteen people were arrested at the party in Franklin County on November 10.

(Franklin County, Ind.) - An underage drinking party in Franklin County was crashed by police earlier this month.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department says the party was busted on Saturday, November 10 at a home on Rickman Road in the county’s northwest corner. Numerous people ages 14 to 25 were inside the residence where numerous alcoholic beverages were also present.

The party was allegedly hosted by 18-year-old Talia Ann Denney, of Rushville, at her grandparents’ home.

“Deputies were able to determine that Denney’s grandparents were away on vacation and knew nothing of the party,” the sheriff’s department said in a news release.

Some of the juveniles allegedly drinking at the party were as young as 14.

In all, 19 people from Rushville, Connersville, Metamora, Brookville, and West Harrison were arrested and charged with Illegal Possession of Alcohol (class C misdemeanor). Eleven of those arrested were adults ages 18 to 20. They each posted a $500 bond to get out of jail the following morning.

Those eight juveniles ages 14 to 17 were released at the scene to the custody of their respective parents or guardians with a summons to appear in court.

Indiana State Police and Laurel Police Department assisted with the police response to the party.
