By City of Greendale, news release

Construction is expected to start on Monday, July 29.

(Greendale, Ind.) - The City of Greendale will start upcoming planned construction at Schnebelt Pond Trail along with the Greendale Park Basketball Courts on Monday July 29th with construction scheduled for completion on or about August 23rd, 2024.

Traffic controls with sidewalk barricades and closure signage will be up at the three entrances of Schnebelt Park and at the Greendale Basketball Courts for safety precautions. The Schnebelt Pond Trail and park areas along with the Greendale Park Basketball Courts will be closed during construction.

The Schnebelt Pond Trail Mill/Paving Project includes survey work, the milling/paving of existing asphalt trail, installation of park bench and swing concrete pads, and replacement of concrete trail near Marie St. with asphalt. Root pruning methods are in place to protect tree roots near the trail.

The Greendale Park Basketball Court Repaving Project includes the mill and pave of the existing 80 X 94’ asphalt basketball court, new striping to include the Tiger Paw emblem and reinstallation of basketball goals/backboards.

Some parking restrictions will occur at the Greendale Pool rear parking lot for heavy equipment mobilization during this time. All work is weather contingent.  We want to thank our community residents for their patience during our quality park improvements within the City of Greendale.
