2020 Comic Expo Cancelled, 2021 Dates Set

The Cincinnati Comic Expo will now be held September 17-19, 2021.

(Cincinnati, Oh.) - Following the latest updates and developments over the past few months, the 2020 Cincinnati Comic Expo has officially been cancelled.

"We have been constantly following the updates from the Duke Energy Convention Center, local health agencies, media, state, and municipal authorities. We appreciate all their feedback and updates as this situation developed," says a press release from the organizers of the Cincinnati Comic Expo. "Over the past few months, we were optimistic that the Expo would still occur. Improvements were happening and progress was being made across the state. We were so hopeful that we continued our guest announcements and details. Plans were looking promising through May with the results being reported. Unfortunately, that all turned starting in late June and continuing through present day. The state of Ohio had issued an indefinite ban on mass gathering events, such as the Cincinnati Comic Expo and we are left with no further option."

Like many other businesses and events, keeping all guests and staff safe is the number one priority.

"The health and wellness for all of guests, fans, exhibitors, volunteers, staff, and all of you patrons of the Cincinnati Comic Expo, as well as surrounding businesses and citizens of Cincinnati is paramount and takes priority over any desire and plans to still hold the event. We understand many of you are saddened and disappointed, but in the end we have to do what is right," the Comic Expo organizers continue.

All tickets must be used by 2022 or the ticket will be void.

Keeping the ticket will include rollover bonuses, including:

The other option for 2020 Cincinnati Comic Expo ticket holders is to request a refund. Refunds are available; however, you must claim the refund through GrowTix by Friday, August 14.

To refund a ticket, go to the email confirmation page and press the red block saying "Refund Product." You must click through all three prompts: click, confirm, and finish. This must be done for every product ordered. Note, once the confirmation is confirmed, it cannot be undone. Refunds can take three to five days to return to the account or card.

If unable to locate the GrowTix confirmation email, email matt@cincinnaticomicexpo.com with the name and email address on the ticket order. Any purchase not refunded by August 14 will automatically roll over to the 2021 event.
