AUDIO: Dearborn Co. Clearinghouse Continues To Serve Community Through COVID-19 Pandemic

While the clearinghouse is currently able to provide for those in need, donations are crucial to keep those services going.

(Dearborn Co., Ind.) - With an increase of community members struggling and needing some help during these tough times, the Dearborn County Clearinghouse continues to provide services.

Dearborn County Clearinghouse Executive Director Karry Hollan tells Eagle Country 99.3 that with the increase of demand for food, the clearinghouse has dropped the required interview process to be able to help all of those that are in need.

While volunteers continue to deliver food throughout the community, they are practicing all the necessary habits to stay safe.

"What we do when they come is one of our volunteers will go out to get their name and how many is in the family. We'll bring the food out and set it down for them to put in their car. That way we are still getting food out and keeping our volunteers safe," says Hollan.

With help from United Way and donations, the Dearborn County Clearinghouse is able to keep up with the demand to keep our community fed.

Since the clearinghouse had to cancel their Hunger Awareness fundraiser, which funds their services throughout the year, donations are vital to continue assisting Dearborn County residents.

Additional help will continue to come from the National Guard for the next four weeks where they will be bringing FEMA meals.

Monetary donations can be given online at https://dearbornclearinghouse.com.
