Cincinnati Mayor Will Run For Governor In 2022

John Cranley joins a growing list of gubernatorial candidates.

(CINCINNATI) – Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley is running for governor.

Cranley, a Democrat, announced his campaign on Tuesday morning.

In the announcement, Cranley stated that “one party has led Ohio in the wrong direction for too long.”

Cranley will run for governor in 2022 on the following platform:

  • Create 120,000 Middleclass Jobs
  • Supercharge Small Business Growth
  • Energy Independence
  • Criminal Justice Reform
  • Fix Roads, Bridges and Infrastructure
  • Improve Pre-K-12 Education

 “I led our comeback in Cincinnati. Now I’m running for governor to help write Ohio’s comeback story,” said Cranley.

He joins a growing list of gubernatorial candidates that includes current Republican Governor Mike DeWine, former U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci (Republican), farmer Joe Blystone (Republican), and Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley (Democrat).
