Cincinnati CBP Seizes 2,000 Counterfeit 3M Masks

These masks were found on Friday, April 3.

(Cincinnati, Oh.) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers searched a package at an Express Consignment Operations hub in Cincinnati earlier this month.

The shipment from China listed its contents as masks and a declared value of $500. When inspected, the packaged contained 2,000 counterfeit 3M masks. Due to the number of masks, the domestic value was listed as $2,000. If the counterfeit masks were real, the MSRP would have been $7,000.

The package's final destination was a residence in Austin, Texas.

“Cincinnati CBP screens freight from all over the world,” said Richard Gillespie, Cincinnati  Port Director . “Our officers are highly trained and work around the clock to protect the people of the United States.” CBP officers seized the package for trademark violation.
