Chip Seal Begins Tuesday On SR 350, Old SR 350

Work will occur in both Dearborn and Ripley counties.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – A chip seal project is set to begin on State Road 350 in Dearborn and Ripley counties.

The Indiana Department of Transportation says maintenance crews will begin chip seal preservation on a 2.5-mile section of Old State Road 350 in Dearborn County and two 10-mile sections of State Road 350 in Dearborn and Ripley counties on or after Tuesday, August 13, weather permitting.

Specific locations are as follows:

  • Old S.R. 350: W junction of S.R. 350 to E junction of S.R. 350 (E of Mt. Sinai)
  • S.R. 350: .57 miles W of U.S. 421 (Hillcrest Drive) to 1.82 miles E of S.R. 101 (Dearborn/Ripley County line) AND 1.82 miles E of S.R. 101 (Dearborn/Ripley County line) to 1.76 miles W of U.S. 50 (near South Dearborn Community School Corporation)

Motorists should expect delays due to lane closures in the work zone. Flaggers will be present to maintain traffic.

INDOT says the cost-effective pavement preservation technique should save $6 to $14 in taxpayer expenditures for every $1 invested in extending the life of a roadway.

A project completion date was not announced.
