Lawrenceburg Schools Superintendent Karl Galey confirmed the news on Wednesday.
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation has confirmed its first positive COVID-19 case.
Superintendent Karl Galey tells Eagle Country 99.3 that there has been a positive case at Central Elementary School. The positive case comes a week to the day since the school year started.
Due to Dearborn County Health Department requirements, the student must quarantine for 14 days before returning to school regardless of a negative COVID-19 test.
"Contact tracing has been conducted in cooperation with our local county health department to identify those having direct contact so they may be quarantined too," said Galey. "The school corporation communicated with all families who had students in the class or on the bus with the infected student."
