Carlos & Geraldine Lawrence Memorial Scholarship 2020 Deadline Extended

The deadline for this scholarship has been extended until Wednesday, April 15.

(Dearborn Co.,Ind.) - Seniors in Dearborn County still have the opportunity to apply for the 2020 Carlos and Geraldine Lawrence Memorial Scholarship. 

One student meeting the given criteria will receive a $1,000 scholarship towards their post-secondary education, whether it be trade school or a two or four year college. 

This scholarship honors both community members that passed away from two terrible diseases. Carlos died of ALS in 2009, and Geraldine passed away from stage 4 cancer in 2018.

"Carlos and Geraldine were longtime family business owners in Lawrenceburg, Indiana who were always very giving to anyone who needed it. They would donate any time possible and to whoever would ask," says the Lawrence family.

Criteria:

  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Reside in Dearborn County
  • Scholarship is weighted based off of the essay, community service, extracurricular activities, and work experience
  • Transcripts are not needed

If needed, an interview will be held between finalists.

The deadline for this application has been extended until Wednesday, April 15.
