California Man Arrested After 70 Pounds of Marijuana Located During Traffic Stop

(Seymour, Ind.) – Indiana State Police-Versailles Post troopers made a significant drug bust on Tuesday near Seymour.

A traffic stop was conducted on Interstate 65 around 5:00 p.m.

During the stop, Sgt. Stephen Wheeles became suspicious that criminal activity was taking place.

The investigation led to a search of the vehicle. During the search, troopers located approximately 60 vacuum sealed packages containing marijuana.

Initial estimates indicated the weight of the packaged marijuana to be more than 70 pounds with a street value between $150,000 to $200,000. Troopers also located over $16,000 in U.S. Currency.

Arman Hakobyan, 37, of Chatsworth, California was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail on initial charges of Dealing over 10 pounds of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana.
