Bright Elementary School Welcomes New Principal

Michael Collier has spent his entire career as a 1st, 4th and 5th grade teacher.

(Bright, Ind.) - Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corporation is pleased to announce Mr. Michael Collier has been selected to be the new Principal at Bright Elementary School. Mr. Collier earned his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Franklin College, and his Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Ball State University.

He has spent his entire career as a teacher at Hawthorne Elementary School teaching 1st, 4th, and 5th grade, and is the recent winner of the Hawthorne Elementary School Teacher of the Year. Michael, his wife Sarah, and son Andrew are looking forward to moving to the area.

“I am excited to bring Michael to our district. He has had a successful career as an elementary school teacher. His recent experience in the classroom will provide a valuable resource as we move forward with our strategic plan and focus on core instruction and curriculum.” Dr. Jackson, Superintendent.
