Biker Injured In Versailles Crash

A man from Brownstown, Indiana suffered non-life threatening injuries.

(Ripley County, Ind.) - A motorcycle wreck in Ripley County put a man in the hospital.

Donald Sons, 65, of Brownstown, Indiana, was operating the motorcycle when it crashed on U.S. 50 just west of U.S. 421 in Versailles around 7:55 a.m. on Saturday, June 9. The bike slid while in a curve.

“Witnesses stated that, as the motorcycle approached the curve in the roadway, they saw smoke coming from the wheels of the motorcycle as Donald applied his brakes. The motorcycle then went down onto its right side and slid down the roadway,” according to Ripley County Sheriff’s Deputy Conrad Reichert.

Sons was transported by Rescue 69 to Margaret Mary Health Hospital in Batesville with non-life threatening injuries.

Responding agencies also included Versailles Fire Department and Ripley County Medics.
