BIG Grant Program Grant Cycles Change

Deadlines to apply for this grant are now February 29 and May 31.

(Batesville, Ind.) - Batesville's Building Improvement Grant (BIG) is making some "big" changes.

The BIG program is changing their grant cycles. In 2018, the program initially held four different grant cycles. Starting this year, Batesville's BIG program will only have two grant cycles, February 29 and May 31, 2020. Applications will not be accepted after the May 31st date.

Batesville's BIG program provides matching funds to small businesses that are looking to make renovations or updates to the exterior of their building. This program directly aligns with Bateville's goals outlined in the Comprehensive Plan to promote redevelopment and reinvestment in the small business community.

This gives small business owners have the opportunity to receive up to $5,000 to finance direct costs associated with approved renovation activities.

The funds received must be used for permanent exterior improvements. Tenants must have approval from the owner and a minimum of two years remaining on their lease or an option to renew to receive funding.

Businesses that have benefited from this grant include Miss Shannon’s Music Studio, Giesting Financial and Amack’s Well.

If you are interested in applying or getting more information, contact the Economic Development Director Sarah Lamping at slamping@batesvilleindiana.us or (812) 933-6113.

Application instructions can be found on the City of Batesville's website on the Economic Development page and under the Incentives tab. Applications can be submitted at the Memorial Building or by contacting Lamping.
