Batesville Kiwanis to Host 34th Annual AppleFest

The event takes place September 28-29 at Liberty Park.

(Batesville, Ind.) - The Batesville Kiwanis will welcome autumn as they host AppleFest at Liberty Park on September 28 & 29 celebrating the apple harvest with special recognition to the event’s sponsor, Moore Law, LLC. 

From artisans and businesses with unique items and services to offer visitors to the menu of festival favorites and apple desserts, fest chairperson, Sue Siefert notes “We have activities, shopping opportunities, fun and entertainment for all ages!” 

Live entertainment includes Batesville’s Eureka Band performing Saturday at Noon, Marisa Fullenkamp at 1:30, and Deno Koumoutsos at 3:00. D & B Martial Arts will offer demonstrations at 11:30 and Miss Lizzy’s Performing Arts Academy will perform at 1:00. On Sunday Lone Wolf and Friends Acoustic entertains at noon leading up to the Apple Royalty Pageant at 1:00. 

Kiwanis member, Paul Ketchum added, “The pageant, coordinated by the BHS Key Club will feature BPS & SLS kindergarten and second grade candidates vying for the titles of Mister and Miss Apple Bud and Mister and Miss Apple Blossom, respectively. Sixth grade students from BMS and SLS have nominated citizens to be honored as AppleFest King and Queen and the successful candidates will be introduced at the fest.” 

Other attractions include Batesville Memorial Public Library’s children’s activities on Saturday while Kids Discovery Factory hosts activities on Sunday. The Kiwanis Trackless Train Ride will roll through the park both days and Kids’ Bounce Houses will be onsite while Kiwanis offer a wide variety of sandwiches, refreshments and apple desserts. 

Siefert concluded, “The Villa Orchard will feature a variety of apples along with their famous cider while W A Strassell & Sons returns with mums for your fall décor The Batesville Beautification League Raffle will be held Sunday. We have a record number of arts, crafts and business vendors offering a unique shopping experience, exciting activities for all ages, festival food, baked goods and mouthwatering apple desserts … all we need is you to join us as we welcome autumn and celebrate the apple harvest.”
