Batesville Community Schools Receive Grants From Hillenbrand Vision Fund

Programs receiving grants range from Industrial Robotics to Computer Programming.

 

(Batesville, Ind.) – Batesville Community Schools is getting a boost from a grant program that has been around since the late 90’s.

 

The Joan and John Hillenbrand VISION Fund for Innovation has awarded seven grants towards programs at Batesville High School, Batesville Middle School and Batesville Primary School.

 

The Vision Fund is committed to advancing the quality of education in the Batesville community by providing the means for teachers to improve instructional skills, seek excellence, foster creativity in the classroom, create a better learning environment and encourage students to become life-long learners.

 

Batesville Community Schools Corporation Superintendent Paul Ketcham said the following programs will receive a grant:

 

  • $2,000 for “World Music Clinics and Concert” for BMS and BHS.
  • $2,000 for “Industrial Robotics and Automation” for BHS.
  • $292 for “Technology Tools for the Modern Classroom” for BHS.
  • $1,000 for “Professional Choreographer for BMS Musical” for BMS.
  • $1,319 for “Continued Growth of Student Film in Batesville” for BHS.
  • $2,793 for “Osmo Educational Game System” for BPS.
  • $400 for “Hands-On Computer Programming Drones” for BHS.

 

Since the fund’s inception in May of 1998, hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants have been awarded to all six public or private schools in Batesville.
