CINCINNATI - Local Vietnam Veteran Dennis Sterling will be recognized at tonight's Cincinnati Reds game.
The Aurora native will be posthumously honored as the Reds' Hometown Hero at Great American Ball Park.
Sterling, a Sgt. E-5, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17. During his time in the military, he received many awards and citations including the National Defense Service Medal, Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbon, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Vietnamese Gallantry Cross with Palm, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star with "V" for Valor, and a Purple Heart.
His wife, son, and daughter will be in attendance at tonight's game, along with Sterling's sister and several friends.
The Reds will take on the Chicago Cubs starting at 7:10 p.m.
