(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Some of Lawrenceburg's most popular holiday events are being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lawrenceburg Main Street announced Tuesday the cancellation of the December 5 & 12 Winter Wonderland Events, including the Winter Wonderland Parade, Santa's Workshop, and Winter Fest.

"Every year, we look forward to celebrating the holiday season with the Lawrenceburg community. After careful consultation with the State Health Department, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all events scheduled for December 5th and December 12th, 2020. This was a tough call to make. Following increased concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed in order to protect the health and safety of our community. Main Street wishes you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season," said Michelle Cone, LMS Director.

The Winter Wonderland Ice Rink at Todd Creech Park will remain open with some stipulations. Face masks are required at the ice rink and the number of people is being limited to 50 under current state requirements.

Mayor Kelly Mollaun also announced the cancellation of the annual Mayor's Reception. The City will move forward with its annual tree lighting ceremony by the Clock Tower on Walnut Street on Sunday, November 29 at 6:00 p.m.
