(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Lawrenceburg Police made an arrest on an attempted rape suspect last Friday.

Prosecutor Lynn Deddens announced this morning the arrest of Sergio Marroquin Crisostomo, 27.

He is charged with Attempted Rape with a Deadly Weapon (Level 1 Felony), Criminal Confinement with a Deadly Weapon (Level 3 Felony), Battery with a Deadly Weapon (Level 5 Felony) and Strangulation (Level 6 Felony).

According to a probable cause affidavit, Lawrenceburg Police were dispatched to a residence for the report of rape. The alleged victim was mowing grass outside her garage when Crisostomo approached and pulled the victim into the garage.

Crisostomo allegedly threatened her with a knife and cut her pants.

The victim was eventually let up and proceeded to a neighbor’s house for help.

Officers from Lawrenceburg Police located a family member of Crisostomo and received his cell phone number, which was used to ping his location. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Crisostomo was officially charged on Monday and received his initial appearance in Dearborn County Court.

His bond was taken under advisement.

“This is a frightening case of an alleged victim mowing grass outside her garage in Lawrenceburg and a stranger, allegedly grabbing her, using a knife to cut off her pants as he attempted to rape her. All of this occurred in the daylight. He is facing the highest level of felony for his alleged actions,” said Prosecutor Lynn Deddens.
