Applications Available for Leadership in Law Program

The free program is open to high school students entering their sophomore, junior or senior year in fall 2023.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Do you know a high school student who is interested in a career in law enforcement, forensics, or becoming an attorney?

If so, the Leadership in Law summer internship may be just for them.

High school students entering their sophomore, junior or senior year in the fall of 2023 is encouraged to participate.

Leadership in Law is a one-week intensive program that provides students with an opportunity to observe, interact and utilize leadership skills while participating in a program that gives insight into careers in law, law enforcement, and government.

Some of the highlights of the program include experiencing:

  • Real court in action
  • Firsthand experience with CSI crime scene technology
  • Developing leadership skills
  • Investigating a mock crime scene and a mock trial in court

The program is offered the week of June 12 at the Dearborn County Courthouse, meeting from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Participation is required for the entire week to receive a Leadership in Law certificate.

Students participate in the program at no cost.

Interested students should complete the application form and write a short essay on: “Why you would like to participate in the Leadership in Law Program.”

Applications forms should be returned to the Guidance Office no later than May 19. Students will be notified of acceptance and further details by May 31.
