Are you a current Lawrenceburg Municipal Utilities customer?

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP) aids local communities as they continue to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City of Lawrenceburg has established the ARP Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund in which Federal funding assistance from the ARP shall be deposited. On November 10th, 2021, Lawrenceburg City Council approved Resolution 9-2021 to implement a Utility Assistance Program through the Lawrenceburg Municipal Utilities (LMU) with ARP funds to respond to the negative impacts caused by the COVID-19 public health emergency.

Under the Utility Assistance Program, the City of Lawrenceburg will provide one month of residential utilities at no cost for any existing residential customer currently receiving a Lawrenceburg Municipal Utilities bill for water, sewer and electric as indicated on the September 2022 LMU utility bill. Existing LMU residential customers shall have their September 2022 utility bill reflect a zero balance for current charges. Utility forgiveness does not apply to balance forward utility charges noted on utility bill.

Residents who have an existing rental agreement that includes LMU utilities should consult their landlord for any rental fee agreement changes.  Landlords who bundle their monthly residential rental fee to include LMU Utilities are strongly encouraged to pass along this LMU utility relief savings to their renters.

The City of Lawrenceburg is a community that rallies around its city through visionary and action-oriented initiatives as a vital economic investment in mental health and wellness, quality-of-life experiences, and workforce readiness for our citizens to support quality of place, talent attraction and retainment, as well as economic prosperity.
